About WTCLS
WTCLS is a non-profit community-based legal clinic and housing help service provider funded by Legal Aid Ontario and the City of Toronto.
Legal Services
We provide free legal services to low income people living in our area of West Toronto. We provide service in a number of areas of law, including landlord and tenant, employment, social assistance, and immigration.
We can:
- give you legal advice
- provide you with brief services like letter writing
- represent you at some tribunals and courts
- refer you to other agencies when we can’t help
We also provide legal information sessions for members of the public and other community agencies. With our community partners, we also work to improve the laws that affect low income people in Ontario.
Housing Help Services
We also deliver a housing help program funded by the City of Toronto. We help low income people living in our area of West Toronto to search for safe and affordable housing. We can assist with searches for market rent, subsidized, and specialized housing. We have a case management program for people with higher need.
A community-based board of directors is responsible providing oversight for our work.
